Owneo — Terms of Use

Last updated 10 September 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") cover the Owneo app for iOS (the "App"), published by Dmytro Grytsenko ("I", "me"). By downloading or using the App you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

The App is distributed through the App Store, so Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA") applies too. These Terms add to it; where the two conflict, the Standard EULA takes precedence. How your data is handled is explained in the Owneo Privacy Policy.

In short

  • The App is licensed to you for personal use on devices you own or control.
  • Owneo is free to download. Owneo Pro is optional, and every payment goes through Apple.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, at least 24 hours before the current period ends, in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
  • What you add stays yours and never reaches me — so keep your own backup.

1. Your licence

I grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store's Usage Rules. The App is licensed, not sold. You may not:

  • copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
  • rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense the App;
  • work around the App's technical limits, including the limits of the free version and the checks that confirm a purchase;
  • use the App in any way that breaks applicable law.

2. Free and paid features

Owneo is free to download. Some features, or how much of them you can use, are limited in the free version, and the App shows the current limits. Owneo Pro removes those limits and is available as an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time purchase (Lifetime). What it includes is described on the purchase screen at the moment you buy, and that description is what you are paying for.

If Owneo Pro ends

Nothing you added is hidden, locked or deleted. Every thing, document and reminder stays visible, editable and alerting. Only adding more than the free version allows needs Owneo Pro again, and iCloud sync pauses until it is back.

3. Subscriptions

Owneo Pro subscriptions are auto-renewable and come in these plans:

Plan Billed every Free trial
Monthly Month —
Yearly Year 14 days

Prices are shown in the App and on the App Store, in your local currency, before you confirm. They are set per country and may change over time.

  • Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends if you started one.
  • Automatic renewal. A subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Cancelling. Manage or cancel at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period already paid for. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Free trials. Where a plan includes a free trial, it is offered to eligible new subscribers. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it turns into a paid subscription. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
  • Switching plans. Changes between plans are handled by the App Store: an upgrade starts straight away and the unused time on your current plan is credited; a downgrade starts when your current period ends.
  • Price changes. If the price of your subscription goes up, Apple tells you in advance and, where the law or Apple's rules require it, asks for your consent before renewing at the new price.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal cannot be charged, Apple may retry it for a while, and access may continue during that time.

4. One-time purchase

Lifetime unlocks Owneo Pro with a single payment. It is not a subscription: nothing renews, and it stays with your Apple Account for as long as the App is available to you. It covers the features included in Owneo Pro as described when you buy; it is not a promise that any particular future feature will be built.

Buying Lifetime does not cancel a subscription. If you already subscribe, cancel it yourself in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or you will keep being charged for it.

5. Payments, refunds and restoring

  • Apple handles payment. Every purchase is processed by Apple under the App Store's terms. I never see your payment details.
  • Restoring. Purchases belong to your Apple Account. On a new or reset device, sign in with the same Apple Account and use Restore purchases in the App.
  • Refunds. Refunds are decided by Apple, not by me — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something goes wrong, write to me and I'll help where I can.
  • Family Sharing. Purchases are not currently shared through Family Sharing.

6. Your content

Everything you add to the App is yours. The App keeps it on your device and, if you turn on sync, in your own iCloud account. It is never sent to me, so I cannot view, recover or restore it for you.

You are responsible for what you store and for keeping your own backup. The App can export a backup file for exactly this — keep a recent one somewhere safe, especially before you replace or reset your device. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for lost data.

iCloud sync runs on your Apple Account and uses your iCloud storage. It is subject to Apple's iCloud terms and depends on Apple's service, so syncing can be delayed or fail — for example when your iCloud storage is full.

7. Reminders are an aid, not a guarantee

Owneo is built to help you keep track of dates, but it cannot guarantee that you will be alerted. Alerts depend on your notification permission, Focus and Screen Time settings, your device being on, the limit iOS places on scheduled notifications, and the dates you enter. Warranties, insurance policies, registrations, inspections, vaccinations and any other obligations remain your responsibility, and so does acting on them in time.

8. Smart Fill suggestions

Smart Fill reads a scanned page on your device and suggests values for the form. Automatic text recognition makes mistakes, so every suggestion is shown for you to review before it is applied. Check dates, amounts and numbers against the original document.

9. Not professional advice

Owneo is an organiser. It does not give legal, insurance, financial, veterinary or medical advice, and nothing in it replaces the actual terms of your warranty, policy or contract.

10. Updates and availability

I may update the App to fix problems, improve it or keep up with iOS. An update can change or remove features or require a newer version of iOS, and I may stop offering the App altogether. Significant changes, and any removal of a paid feature, will be announced in the release notes first.

11. Intellectual property

The App — its code, design, name and icon — belongs to me and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property law. These Terms don't transfer any of those rights to you. Apple, App Store, iPhone, iCloud and iOS are trademarks of Apple Inc., used here for identification only.

12. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. I don't promise that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will suit every need you have. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for loss of profit, revenue or data, or for the consequences of relying on the App, arising from your use of it or inability to use it. My total liability arising out of or in connection with the App is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the App and its in-app purchases in the twelve months before the claim, or EUR 100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Apple

These Terms are between you and me, not Apple. In line with the Standard EULA:

  • Apple is not responsible for the App or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it — that is my responsibility.
  • If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar law.
  • If a third party claims that the App infringes their intellectual property rights, I, not Apple, am responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you.

15. Ending these Terms

You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it — cancel any subscription in Settings as well, since deleting the App does not stop billing. Your licence ends automatically if you break these Terms. The sections on intellectual property, the disclaimer, limitation of liability and governing law continue to apply after that.

16. Governing law

These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of Ukraine, and the courts of Ukraine have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer-law provisions of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force.

17. Changes to these Terms

I may revise these Terms, for example when the App gains a paid feature or changes how one is sold. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version, and significant changes will be flagged in the App's release notes. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
